Leonard Freed (American, 1929-2006) Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's Motorcade, Baltimore, Maryland, October 31, 1964 Gelatin silver print, printed later 8-3/4 x 13-1/8 inches (22.2 x 33.3 cm) (image) 11 x 14 inches (sheet) Signed, titled, and dated in pencil, and with photographer's Magnum and Later Print stamps, verso. Photographer's Magnum and Later Print stamps, mount verso. King, who had recently been announced as a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, arrived in Baltimore for a get-out-the-vote drive three days before the Nov. 3, 1964, presidential election. His motorcade drove between the Faith Baptist Church and the Masonic Temple on North Eutaw Street where he gave speeches that day. LITERATURE: L. Freed, Black in White America, J.
